Rewiring

Whole-home rewiring in San Diego. Done without gutting the house.

Old wiring is a real fire risk and an insurance problem. We rewire homes in phases — circuit by circuit, room by room — using fish tape, attic and crawlspace runs, and minimal-cut wall openings to keep the drywall repairs small. Permit pulled, every circuit AFCI-protected, every install inspected.

What do homeowners ask about Rewiring?

How much does it cost to rewire a house in San Diego?

Whole-home rewires for a typical 1,500–2,500 sq ft single-family home run $12,000 to $28,000, depending on access (slab vs. crawlspace), wall finish (lath-and-plaster is harder), and how much drywall patching is in scope. Partial rewires start around $3,500 for a single problem area. Free in-home estimate before any commitment.

Do I have to move out during a rewire?

Almost never. We work in phases — one circuit or one room at a time — so the rest of the house stays powered. Most clients stay in the home through the entire project. We'll let you know in advance which rooms will be without power, and for how long.

How much drywall damage should I expect?

Less than you think. We pull through attic, crawlspace, and existing chases wherever possible, and use fish tape through walls when not. Most rewires need 4–8 small drywall openings per room. We don't do drywall repair ourselves; we'll refer a finisher or coordinate with yours.

Will my insurance company approve the rewire?

Yes — and they often require it. We provide a written scope, permit copy, and inspection sign-off your insurance agent can submit. Knob-and-tube and aluminum wire homes are difficult or impossible to insure; once rewired, your premium drops and your renewal goes through.

Can I do a partial rewire instead?

Yes — a partial is the right answer when only one circuit or one area has problems. We handle kitchen-only rewires, laundry/garage circuit additions, knob-and-tube in just the original part of the house. We won't push you to do more than the home actually needs.

Our 1960s Federal Pacific panel was flagged by our home inspector. Bright Pro pulled the permit, swapped it for a 200-amp modern panel, and had us back online by end of day. Insurance premium dropped the next month.
